Awhile back, on one of the sites I manage, I wanted to implement a nice smooth drop down navigation menu, utilizing the new CSS3 transitions.  Seemed easy at first.  The problem is, the CSS transitions don’t support dynamic height elements, so the lists for each drop down would have to be classed to a set height. Mobile Development Overkill

Not all too long ago, Google released an update to the popular free email service which, among other things, updated the mailbox UI.  The common UI was removed in favor of a much more mobile centered one.  More icons, much less text.  For many users, the update was met with less than stellar reception.  The reason?  This UI update applied to all visitors, not just those from mobile devices.
